Hendershott Leads Wildcats to 16-13 Win Over Ragin Cajuns
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Brad Hendershott, the Arizona Wildcats defeated the Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns, 16-13. Hendershott slugged 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 8 for the Wildcats. The winner in relief was Willie Quiros. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Louisiana-Layfayette, with the loss, is still a hardy 5-1.

Hendershott contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Arizona in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 5-4, Hendershott took a cutter from Joe Abshire and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Wildcats to leap in front, 8-5.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Hendershott told the Arizona Observer. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
