Crawford Helps Salukis Beat Gamecocks, 17-9
The timely hitting of Josh Crawford helped the South Illinois Salukis down the South Carolina Gamecocks, 17-9. Crawford was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 6 for the Salukis. At 4-2, the Salukis have played well so far.

Tim Ison had a big 3-run home run for the Salukis in the bottom of the third inning. With South Illinois leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Diehl and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Salukis on top, 6-2.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Salukis manager Aaron McKenna.
