Barreto Cracks 5 Hits
Ricardo Barreto put on a hitting clinic as the Victory Lakes Crawfish dumped the San Carlos Pipers, 12-3, at Pipers Grove.

The Victory Lakes catcher made San Carlos defenders earn their pay, lashing San Carlos pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Barreto said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Ricardo Barreto grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ruben Olivares in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Raymond Hale in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Barreto is hitting .233 with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs in 7 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .303 with 3 walks and 5 runs scored.
