Alfredo Mondragon was superb against Springfield. The right-hander had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Rattlers victory. The score was 8-3. Mondragon, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 11, walking 3, and allowing no runs. With the win, Mojave elevates its record to 5-4.

The Rattlers got a big boost from shortstop Blair Binns who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Sentries hurler Rey Rodriguez. It was his 4th walk of the season and put Mojave on top, 1-0.

"Alfredo was in attack mode," said Mojave manager Jimmy Bernard.
