Demon Deacans Prevail, 4-3, Over South Carolina
|
Wake Forest right fielder Diego Medina picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the South Carolina Gamecocks, 4-3. The winner was Wake Forest reliever Bobby Salvato, now 1-0. The loser was Kyle Burch. The Demon Deacans, now 4-1, have hit the ground running this season.
Medina contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Wake Forest in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-1, Medina took a fastball from Kyle Burch and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Demon Deacans to leap in front, 4-3.
"We've got a great group of guys," Medina said, "and we're having fun right now."
