Tigers Slip Past Washington State, 4-3
|
The LSU Tigers overcame a good performance by Washington State right fielder Kyle Flohr to knock off Washington State, 4-3, at Tribe Ballpark. Flohr went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With the loss, Washington State drops to 2-2.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Ryan Schmidle came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Washington State pitcher Jason Ford, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting LSU on top, 4-3.
"It was a good effort all around," said Schmidle.
