Ragin Cajuns Make It 4 In a Row with 11-2 Triumph Over Ole Miss
|
Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Field of the Dukes.
The Louisiana-Layfayette Ragin Cajuns pinned a convincing loss on the Ole Miss Rebels, 11-2, at Field of the Dukes. Dave Coen was a main factor in the win. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Louisiana-Layfayette. Louisiana-Layfayette reliever Juan Mercado picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dusty Hodges was saddled with the loss.
Jason Shannon helped out the Louisiana-Layfayette cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman drew 3 walks in 5 plate appearances.
"It's Baseball 101," said Louisiana-Layfayette manager Andy Clemons. "Fundamentals."
Ole Miss now has a record of 0-4.
