Beats Clip Stars, 2-1
|
Kingston Beats starter Dan Devaney turned in a sparkling performance against the Arlington Stars, leading his team to a 2-1 win. In 7.2 innings, Devaney surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. The win puts Kingston at 5-2.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Beats had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when right fielder Julian Porter hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Arcibaldo Duarte and made the score 2-0, Beats. Porter went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch.
"Dan executed his pitches at a high level," said Kingston manager Jonathan Weiss.
