Stewart, Jayhawks Clobber Tar Heels

It was a fun time at Brutes Ballpark, where the North Carolina Tar Heels and Kansas Jayhawks tangled.
The Kansas Jayhawks thumped the North Carolina Tar Heels, 10-0, at Brutes Ballpark. Shawn Stewart was a big reason his team got the win. Stewart went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 6. Dan Addona got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and no runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2.
With Kansas leading 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Stewart hit a changeup from Alex Perez for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Jayhawks ahead, 7-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Jayhawks manager Alberto Silva. "We came out swinging the bats."
Kansas, at 3-0, has sizzled in the early going.
