Blue Jays Topple Cucamonga, 11-5, as Silva Shines
|
The umbrellas came out during the Toronto-Rancho contest at Exhibition Stadium.
Toronto center fielder German Silva had 4 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Rancho Cucamonga, 11-5. Danny Corona got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4.
Toronto third baseman Dan Wooten contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 5-3.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Silva told the Toronto Daily.
Toronto has a record of 5-0.
