Patch Excels, But Bulldogs Win
The Fresno State Bulldogs overcame a good performance by Texas designated hitter Mike Patch to knock off Texas, 8-5, at Ballpark of Celebration College. Patch went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 3 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Fresno State sits at 2-1 in the early going.

Josh Brindamour delivered a big hit for Fresno State. The center fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bulldogs ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Brindamour. "I just want to win ballgames."
