Cougars Edge Past Steelhounds, 6-5
|
The Victoria Cougars stopped the Brighton Steelhounds, 6-5, behind an impressive performance from Juan Guerrero. The 22-year old third baseman made life miserable for Brighton pitching. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Cougars raised their record to 3-2.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Guerrero hit a fastball from Matt Cramer for a solo home run. The Cougars, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This game was intense," Guerrero said, postgame.
