Ritscher Excels in Florida Win
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Gary Ritscher, the Florida Gators defeated the Iowa State Cyclones, 13-4. Ritscher went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 for the Gators. Nick Burks got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The Gators, now 2-0, have been on a roll in the early going.

Florida used the timely hitting of Mike Morgan to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Gators on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
