Though he had a stellar game, Eduardo Espinosa could not prevent his team, the Rancho Cucamonga, from losing, 7-6, to the Bloomington Hoosiers. Espinosa went 1-1 with 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. Omar Trujillo closed the door for Bloomington, picking up his 1st save of the year. The loss drops Rancho to 0-2.

Bloomington took a 7-6 lead on Alexis Coss's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Coss hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Rancho pitcher Willie Ochoa visibly frustrated.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Coss. "It sure beats the alternative."
