Monarchs Lose Big to Stars, 14-1
The Niagara Stars began the 2062 season with a convincing 14-1 win over the London Monarchs at Drummondville College Grounds. Most impressive was Niagara first baseman Leland Crowley, who went 2-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Rich Durdle. He went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. Brett Anderson earned the save for Niagara.

Bill Bandelow chipped in a 2-run home run for Niagara in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
