Diaz Hits 2 home runs in Giants Win
The Carolina Giants beat the Mayaguez Indians, 9-4, at Indians Ballpark. The Giants got a fine performance from catcher Ezequiel Diaz, who captured player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Jonathan Garcia picked up the win with 8.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 4-3. The Giants saw their win-loss record go to 17-23. At the same time, the Indians fell to 20-17.

Momentum swung to the Giants in the top of the third, when Diaz, who leads the RCL in bases on balls with 26, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Giants into the lead, 4-1.
