Indians Top Crabbers to Even Record
|
Mayaguez starter Hector Moncada pitched effectively against the Santurce Crabbers at Indians Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 7-4 win. Mayaguez reliever Corey Herring picked up the win to move to 2-0. Manny Moreno suffered the loss. Earning his 7th save for Mayaguez was David Cepeda.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Santurce hurler Manny Moreno, Ethan Edwards, who is tied for 9th in the RCL in doubles with 8, hit a sacrifice fly. The Indians went on to win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Moncada.
Mayaguez is now 16-16. Santurce is 14-18.
