Victory Over Crabbers Takes Manati to 17-9
|
Manati catcher Tom Ross had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Santurce Crabbers, 6-4. Juan Ugarte got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 13 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 0. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Athenians.
Ross came through for the Athenians in the bottom of the third inning. With Manati trailing 4-3, the catcher hit a 3-run home run. It made the score 6-4, Manati.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ross told reporters after the game.
