Crabbers Come Up Short at Carolina
|
The Carolina Giants beat the Santurce Crabbers, 5-4, at Ballpark of Giants. Sergio Solis was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The 18-year old center fielder was a menace to Santurce all day. Jonathan Garcia picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-1. He struck out 4 in 8 innings. Trevor Biggs sewed up the save, his 3rd.
With one out in the bottom of the second, Rick Prihoda put Carolina in front, 3-1, with a 2-run single. The Giants went on to win the ballgame.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Prihoda said.
Carolina is now 4-7, while Santurce is 5-6.
