The Mayaguez Indians got a superb performance from pitcher Javy Amaya. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santurce. The Crabbers won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Amaya was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Indians, who are now 5-2.

Santurce shortstop Miguel Albino contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Crabbers ahead, 2-0.

"I felt good up there," said Albino. "I saw the ball well."
