The Mayaguez Indians and Manati Athenians were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Indians Ballpark.
The Manati Athenians picked up a win at Indians Ballpark, knocking off the Mayaguez Indians, 8-1. Starting pitcher Sergio Lugo played a key role in the triumph. Losses have been few and far between for the Indians so far this season. Their record drops to 4-1.
Mayaguez had runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the seventh. With two out, Mike Litherland came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he flied out. The score remained 3-1, Manati. The Indians saw their comeback bid fail.
