The Sydney Blue Sox got a superb performance from left fielder Norm Gallard, but the Geelong Korea still won the game, 10-8. Gallard was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Geelong reliever Ted Baker picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Jung-jun Pak absorbed the loss. Geelong bumps their record to 30-23 with the win.

Had Tristan Curnow not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Curnow hit a 2-run single. That made the score 10-8, in favor of the Korea.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Curnow, "but we got it done."
