Giants Fall Short, 2-1, at Sydney

The Sydney Blue Sox got a stellar effort from pitcher Mark Mcquade, helping Sydney score a 2-1 win over the visiting Adelaide Giants. Sydney, at 21-29, occupies last place in the Australian Baseball Northeast Division.
Sydney catcher Lance Goodwin helped the Blue Sox go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Goodwin hit a run-scoring double off Adelaide pitcher Owen Stapleton.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Mcquade told reporters after the game.
