It was a good time at Melborne Grounds, where fans came to watch the Canberra Cavalry and Melborne Aces get after it.
The Melborne Aces racked up a win at Melborne Grounds, bumping off the Canberra Cavalry, 6-2. Steven Hancock, who started for Melborne, pitched effectively for his team. Roland Blythe was credited with the save for Melborne, his 11th of the season.
In the bottom of the first, Melborne third baseman Clint Hauer had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Hauer stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-1, Melborne. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Hauer told the Melborne Citizen.
Melborne is now 19-30.
