Tight Tilt Goes to Tuatara, 3-2
|
Burt Pearson pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Brisbane Bandits, despite Pearson's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Auckland Tuatara at Ballpark of Auckland. Bert Aldridge was credited with the save for Auckland, his 14th of the season. Auckland leads the Australian Baseball Northeast Division by 4 games.
Karl Tibbles had a productive at-bat for the Tuatara with one out in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, the shortstop hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Auckland win.
Tibbles called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
