Brisbane catcher Vinnie Dundon was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Canberra beat the Bandits, 6-5. Dundon was named the player of the game despite the loss. Canberra is now 22-24.
Canberra took control in the top of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Matthew Buffey hit a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Cavalry.
Buffey told the Canberra Today: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
