Reed hits 2 home runs as Korea Squeeze Past Melborne
|
The Geelong Korea defeated the Melborne Aces, 4-3, at Ballpark of South Korea. Geelong second baseman Marco Reed was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Brian Reddick got the win, improving to 3-3. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 3. Ted Baker recorded the save for Geelong, his 10th of the season.
An important at-bat for Geelong came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 1st, Reed hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Korea win.
Reed attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Geelong has now won 3 straight, while the Aces have lost 4 in a row.
