Giants Stymie Canberra, Take 8-1 Win
|
Hsien-feng Wang made an impact in the 8-1 Adelaide win over Canberra. Wang, who is tied for 3rd in the AUB with a .356 batting average, was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Owen Stapleton was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Adelaide has now won 3 straight, while the Cavalry have lost 3 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Giants had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the sixth, when first baseman Mitch Malcolm hit a 2-run double. The double came off Sterling Galloway and made the score 2-1, Giants.
