Heat Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Melborne got a terrific game from right fielder Dylan Albrecht. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Perth, 6-4. Albrecht was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Samuel Angwin got credit for the win, improving to 6-0. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings. Ian Cooper recorded his 11th save for Perth.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Melborne hurler Cheng-hao Xiu, Edward Harrison, who is tied for 9th in the AUB in stolen bases with 4, hit a 2-run single. The Heat went on to win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Harrison.
Perth is now riding a 4-game win streak.
