Rearden Powers Korea to 4-2 Win
|
Chris Rearden helped his team muscle past the Auckland Tuatara, 4-2. In the game, the Geelong right fielder was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mitch Stennings picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 3-2. The save was credited to Ted Baker, his 7th.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Rearden went to the plate for the Korea. With the clubs tied 2-2, he saw a 1-2 fastball from David Silk and hit a 2-run home run to put the Korea on top, 4-2.
