Korea Fall Short at Sydney
The Sydney Blue Sox powered past the Geelong Korea, 9-8, at Blue Sox Ballpark. Norm Gallard went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Sydney reliever William Sweeny was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Keith Geaner took the loss for Geelong. Sydney now sits at 11-14, while Geelong falls to 13-12.

Gallard had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 cutter from Keith Geaner, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Blue Sox a 9-8 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Gallard.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Gallard said after the game.
