Giants Come Back Late to Top Bandits
|
The Adelaide Giants topped the Brisbane Bandits, 4-3, in AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Giants Grounds. The player of the game was Adelaide pitcher and Melbourne, Australia native Ben Flemming. The Giants bumped their record to 15-10 with this latest triumph.
Adelaide won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Wesley Abbey on the mound for Brisbane, first baseman Andrew Turner hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Giants fans to their feet.
Brisbane manager Aaron Barnes said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
