Li goes 3-for-4, Giants Move to 12-8
|
The Adelaide Giants beat the Auckland Tuatara, 11-3, at Ballpark of Auckland. The Giants got a fine performance from third baseman Wing-tat Li, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Clint Trew was the winning pitcher. Over 9 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. Adelaide is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Li put Adelaide up, 9-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Gareth Moore in the top of the sixth. His 3rd home run of the season helped the Giants capture the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Li said after the game.
