Heat, Lindner Pin Bad Loss on Bandits
|
The Perth Heat put together a convincing win at Field of the Bandits, defeating the Brisbane Bandits, 12-1. Caspar Lindner was one of the hitting stars. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for Perth. Samuel Angwin picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-0. Losses have been rare for the Bandits, who are now 7-3.
Perth used the timely hitting of Leo Keevil to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Heat ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It feels good to get this one," Lindner told the Perth Times.
