Cavalry Rally For Late Win Over Tuatara
Canberra starter Ted Watts pitched effectively against the Auckland Tuatara at Cavalry Grounds. The left-hander led his team to a 5-4 win. Reliever Nigel Blythe picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Eddie Matthews took the loss. Even with the win, the Cavalry have a dismal 4-8 record.

Won-min Kahng had a productive at-bat for the Cavalry with one out in the bottom of the eighth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, the first baseman hit a sacrifice fly. The at-bat was important in the Canberra win.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Kahng told the Canberra Today.
