Auckland shortstop Karl Tibbles had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Canberra at Cavalry Grounds. Tibbles was 2-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Logan Murray was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Cavalry have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 10 games.

Jai Dickson had a big 2-run single for the Cavalry in the bottom of the third inning. With Canberra leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Danny Saucier and stroked the single to right. It was his 14th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cavalry ahead, 6-3.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Dickson, "but we got it done."
