|
Geelong beat Auckland at Ballpark of Auckland, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Bob Tindale, who earned player of the game honors. Tindale, now 2-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 11, walking 4, and allowing 3 earned runs. At 5-2, the Korea have played well so far.
Geelong third baseman Philip Beard gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the eighth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Korea trailing 3-2, Beard hit a run-scoring single.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Tindale.
