Tuatara Need Extra Frames to Get Past Heat
The Auckland Tuatara defeated the Perth Heat, 6-4, in AUSTRALIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Perth Grounds, with Auckland pitcher Kade Bartholomew named player of the game. Reliever Bert Aldridge picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Viehweg took the loss. The Tuatara, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Auckland used the timely hitting of Nigel Sheppard to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Tuatara on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Bartholomew.
