The Grosetto Fiat overcame a good performance by Rimini second baseman Fontana Spano to knock off Rimini, 9-4, at Ballpark of Venice. Spano was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Grosetto reliever Eugenio Mediate picked up the win, upping his record to 5-0. Leone Costa was saddled with the loss. The Fiat improved to a lofty 26-11.

One pivotal at-bat came with two out in the top of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Rimini trailing 3-1, Eugenio Mediate needed to bear down against Philiberto DeNiro. Mediate won the battle, as DeNiro struck out and the Fiat went on to win.
