Rimini got a terrific game from catcher Ignacio Amore. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Grosetto, 7-6. Amore was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Fiat have won 6 in a row.

In the bottom of the ninth, Grosetto center fielder Daniel Fangio had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Fangio stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 7-6, Grosetto. For the game, he went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Grosetto manager Marciano Iuliano.
