Nettuno got a terrific performance from pitcher Samuel DiLivio, but it wasn't enough to beat the Grosetto Fiat. Grosetto won the Baseball City contest, 3-2. DiLivio was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Arturo Parenzan closed the game out for Grosetto, earning his 2nd save. With the win over Nettuno, the Fiat improved to 11-8.
Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, Isacco Savino's at-bat in the top of the eighth was huge. With two out, the Grosetto center fielder hit a run-scoring double, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Grosetto manager Marciano Iuliano.
