Birindelli Torches Unipol for 5 Hits
|
The De Angelis whipped the Unipol 12-1 at Ballpark of Bologna and Aurelio Birindelli had a big hand in the win. The De Angelis third baseman came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Birindelli and a tough day for Bologna.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Birindelli delivered today -- 5-for-6 is outstanding in any league. Aurelio Birindelli singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
