Rimini beat San Marino on the strength of starter Leone Costa's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Rimini reliever Montrelle Lucchi picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Ricardo Baruffaldi was collared with the loss. Rimini has a mark of 3-5 after the win.

The Telemarket got an important contribution from first baseman Giovani Castronovo, who in the bottom of the eighth knocked a 3-1 fastball into center for a run-scoring single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the Telemarket ahead, 4-3.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Castronovo.
