Boulders Edge Y'alls, 2-1
|
Chris Roberts was instrumental in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Florence Y'alls. The first baseman hit 2 home runs for the New York Boulders. New York reliever Ryan Moss was credited with the win, to go to 3-2. Tony Covington took the loss for Florence. Danny Mora, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Roberts had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Tony Covington, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Boulders a 2-1 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Roberts.
Afterward, Boulders manager Cody Payne was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
New York goes to 46-30. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
