Fans at Sun Kings Ballpark got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.

The Quebec Capitales outplayed the Lake Erie Crushers en route to a 14-2 win, but the standout was shortstop Shane Poole. Poole netted 5 hits in 6 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Crushers manager Zac Massengill said in his postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Shane Poole singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jon Fey in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 8th.

This year Poole has hit at a .244 pace and produced 9 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 7 runs.
