Miners Walk It Off for 32nd Win of Season

The Sussex County Miners topped the Florence Y'alls, 4-3, in FRONTIER LEAGUE action at Commodores Ballpark. The player of the game was Sussex County pitcher Mike Sonny. The win was Chris Hunt's in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Andy Brown took the loss for Florence. At 32-38, the Miners find themselves in 5th place in the Frontier League Frontier Division.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Devin Hawthorne had a chance to end it. Florence pitcher Andy Brown had other ideas. But with two outs, Hawthorne drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Miners had the win.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Hawthorne. "Just do my job."
