Loss Extends Joilet Losing Streak
|
The Quebec Capitales had to overcome a big game from Joilet shortstop Peter Vanover to leave Jackalopes Ballpark with a 7-5 victory. Vanover went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Joilet is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Quebec used the timely hitting of Mike Locke to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Capitales on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Locke told the Quebec Herald.
