The Evansville Otters trumped the Gateway Grizzlies, 6-3, at Rocketmen Ballpark. Evansville third baseman Matt McDonald was named player of the game for his performance. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jesse Reaves, the winner, improved to 3-4. He held the Grizzlies to 3 earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Colton Guest was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 19 save opportunities.
McDonald had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth to put Evansville in front, 4-0. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run.
