Wild Things Nip Miners, 7-6
|
With designated hitter Brian Hensley leading the charge, the Washington Wild Things defeated the Sussex County Miners, 7-6, at Commodores Ballpark. Hensley, who is tied for 4th in the FL in bases on balls with 39, was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Washington is now 28-33, Sussex County 28-33.
Washington took a 7-5 lead on Hensley's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Joe Pilgrim in the top of the sixth, propelled Washington to the win.
"We got the victory," said Hensley. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
