Aigles Edge Boulders, 3-2
|
Trois-Rivieres Aigles starter John Strauss was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the New York Boulders, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Strauss, now 3-4. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Joe Darlage was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 20 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Trois-Rivieres, had it not been for Kevin Dees, the 21-year old right fielder . Dees contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Trois-Rivieres up, 2-0.
In comments to the Trois-Rivieres Today, Strauss insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
The third-place Aigles now have a win-loss record of 35-27.
